W.C. Richardson (1953-2022) received his MFA in Painting from Washington University at St. Louis and his BFA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was Professor of Painting and Drawing, and Chair of the Department of Art at the University of Maryland, College Park. Richardson had over twenty-one solo exhibitions and over 100 group exhibitions in galleries and museums across the U.S. and abroad. His work is held in many public, corporate and private collections and he has received numerous grants and awards for his painting. He has been a visiting artist, critic, juror, and panelist at institutions across the U.S. He has curated or co-curated a number of exhibitions and created commissioned artworks for the Ronald Reagan National Airport and Reston Town Center in Virginia. His work is represented in Washington, DC by Addison Ripley Fine Arts.
