New York artist Jackie Battenfield has been greatly influenced by Asian art and culture. This is evident in the prints, monotypes, works on paper, and paintings on canvas created by the artist, which are often described as musical, gestural, and spontaneous. A 1991 winner of a painting grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, Battenfield’s work is included in corporate and private collection in numerous countries including The United States, Japan, Hong Kong, and Switzerland; as well as several museums such as the Montclair Art Museum and the New York Public Library. Battenfield is also the author of the book, The Artists Guide: How to Make a Living Doing What you Love.
